München in Munich

It was a long day getting here by train. We think our train was delayed due to rain and floodwaters which meant we missed a connection.
Not a lot of assistance offered with "My friend will be along soon to help; I don't speak English; and I haven't got time " used as excuses. We managed to get on a train that got us here about 90 mins after we were due. Not bad! We enjoyed the countryside even if it cost a little anxiety!
Despite the rain on arrival it wasn't particularly cold so we walked to our hotel after booking a trip to the Alps.
The evening finished after dinner with a wander through the town and the major shopping areas. Friday night so its very busy.

Up early Saturday for our tour of some alpine villages of Bavaria, and two Schloss built by King Ludwig II in 19th century. He was called "the fairytale king" because of his fairytale castles.  Such an interesting history lesson combined with real-life experience.
Whilst there was some snow, much of it has melted due to warm temperatures and rain (that would otherwise be snow) - hence the flooding we saw yesterday. About 3C up on mountains today.
